Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the sacraments of initiation into the Christian life. "By the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit" (Catechism, 1285). At St. Luke, Confirmation is celebrated with eighth grade and high school age youth. At the bottom of this page are the materials and forms necessary for our 2007-2008 Confirmation program. Please see the information about our Confirmation Make Up Session (for those who have missed one of our first five classes.)
Needed: Confirmation Class Administrative Assistants
Need 2 adults, could really use 3!
Sundays: November 4, December 2, February 10, February 24
5:45 pm to 8:00 pm
5:45 pm Be available to make photocopies of forms youth need (Chris will give you the master)
6:00 pm In kitchen with door closed, place ice in 115 cups. Place cups on large metal trays—place trays on metal cart. Put chips, cookies and snacks in bowls
6:25 pm Roll cart of cups and place end of first table. Place bottles of soda on first table. On second table place napkins, paper plates, chips/cookies/snacks.
6:30 pm Break begins. Replenish as needed.
6:50 pm Clean tables, throw trash away, clean bowls and trays, make sure kitchen is put back in order.
7:15 pm Go around to all 8 small groups and collect attend sheets. Place attendance sheets in the forms box.
7:30 pm Help set up for closing prayer activity

Each candidate completes a Confirmation Saint Paper, due February 24, 2008. The criteria are listed in this attachment and a copy of the criteria must be returned along with the completed paper.
Each Confirmation Candidate is to complete a total of 30 hours of service. 12 hours are to be in service to the parish, 12 hours in service to the poor/greater community, and 6 hours in service through prayer.
