St. Luke Recycles 2500 Pounds of Computer Waste

The following letter was received by our Parish Manager, Patrick Jendraszak, after our computer recycling program on the First Sunday of February. The CSAC Endowment previously made a $1,000 grant to this program, which recycles computer equipment and helps former prison inmates returning back to a productive life in society.

I just want to commend you and the rest of the CSAC committee for doing an outstanding job during the recent computer recycling event. St. Luke parish recycles over 2,500 pounds of materials!

Further, I wanted to share with you and the other CSA members the positive impact that your donation (endowment grant) to our organization has had. Your funding helped us recycle the computer equipment at St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute and then, after the college, we did the convent. We processed quite a bit of material from St. Thomas Aquinas chool and we are working with the church to do a drive similar to what St. Luke did. Down in Jeffersonville, Indiana, we did a day where we went to four Catholic schools and picked up materials. And then, next Friday, we are going to Our lady of Lourdes on East Washington.

We are truly gaining momentum as we charge into our second year. Beyond keeping this electronic waste out of our landfills, you are helping to make a dramatic impact on a group of men who are making the difficult transition back into our community. We thank you.
