Dream Act

I-CAN calls the Dream Act too close to call and asks that we contact our senators.
The U.S. Senate will have its first procedural vote on the DREAM ACT on Wednesday, October 24, 2007.  This act will permit certain immigrant students who have grown up in the United States to apply for temporary legal status and eventual permanent status if they attend college for two years or serve in the U.S. military. We need to redouble our efforts to get in phone calls and messages. Votes on the bill could continue until the end of the week.   Call 202-224-3121 ASAP and ask your Senator to vote yes on the DREAM Act, S. 2205.
