The word “Community” is a compound word; “com” means together and “unity” means one. Therefore, a Christian community is the body of believers working together as many members yet one body, knowing that Jesus Christ is at the center of their work and deeds. Community moves us beyond our self-interests and challenges us instead to commit ourselves to working together serving as one in Christ’s mission.
For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them…
