2016 Offering of Letters: Mothers and Children Must Survive and Thrive
Last year, St. Luke, St. Pius X, St. Simon, and St. Thomas Aquinas parishes joined together to write 636 letters to Congress supporting strong child nutrition programs in our country. This year, St. Andrew and Nativity parishes will also participate in the annual Corpus Christi Bread for the World Offering of Letters, urging Congress to increase funding for international maternal and child nutrition programs.
Please join us for a few minutes after Mass on May 21 or 22 in the Fr. Courtney Reception Room to personalize and sign a letter. St. Luke's first participation in this event a year ago produced an impressive 190 letters. The letters will again be blessed at the 9:30 am Mass on May 29th, the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, and then delivered to the local congressional offices during the following week.
