During Advent, gifts are purchased by the parishioners of St. Luke to supply the Catholic Charities of Indianapolis Christmas Store. This will be the 22nd year that our archdiocese will share the joy of Christmas by having this effort that benefits the less fortunate of our community.
This program, totally staffed by volunteers and funded by donations, schedules family members to come to the Store and shop for new merchanise that includes clothing for all ages, toys, and household items. Fees are charged and range from $2.00 per person to a maximum of $10.00 for the entire family. No one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay, but charging a fee does allow the parents to take pride in providing their own Christmas for their children.
We are anticipating an increased need for Christmas assistance this year. Please check back later for more information on our parish efforts (school, Sunday Morning Religious Education, and church community) to assist the Christmas Store.
