Important St. Luke Dates:
Sept. 2, 1961: Official canonical establishment by Archbishop Paul C. Schulte
October 22, 1961: Official dedication is held; 230 families on roster
1981: A permanent church is erected and the original church is converted to administrative offices and meeting spaces.
1994: Two kindergarten classrooms added.
1997: Perpetual Adoration Chapel established.
2002: Multi-use parish space built, allowing expansion of school.

Celebrates Fifty Years
St. Luke Catholic Church celebrates 50 years of witness and service to the people of Indianapolis this year!
We opened the doors of our first church in 1961 with 230 families. That same year, we opened our school with eight classrooms. Since that time, we have been blessed, growing to nearly 2000 parish families; 600 students in our nationally recognized school; 150 students in our Sunday Morning Religious Education program; and countless adults served by our many ministries and groups.
We are excited to commemorate this special occasion with a series of entertaining events from September 2011 to June 2012. Each event provides volunteer opportunities, and we encourage you to join in the fun as a volunteer.
In addition, sponsorship packages are available to individuals and businesses wishing to sponsor Jubilation. Monies raised through sponsorship will be used to fund the St. Luke Financial Aid program for our parish, school, and CYO athletic programs. This is an exciting time for St. Luke Parish. Don’t miss the opportunity to become a part of this historic milestone.
Jubilee Jam Parish Festival: September 24, 2011 Our first large-scale parish festival. Bring the family and invite your friends to enjoy inflatables, carnival games, live bands, food, and more!
St. Luke Athletic Department’s Casino Night (Adults Only): November 5, 2011 The St Luke Athletic Committee is partnering with the Sertoma Club to host a night of Vegas style gaming, prizes, food, beverage, and fellowship for Adult parishioners and their guests. Proceeds will benefit St Luke Athletics.
St. Luke Trivia Night Fundraiser (Adults Only): April 21, 2012 How well do you know your trivia? Here’s your chance to find out! Grab your friends, make a team, and compete against other adults to test your knowledge of everything trivial!
St. Luke Jubilee Jaunt-5 K Run/2 mile Walk & Roll: Saturday, June 23, 2012 Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at our first Fun Run. Avid runners, power walkers, casual walkers, and babes in strollers are all welcome to participate in this family friendly fitness event!
St. Luke Parish Picnic: Sunday, June 24, 2012 (tentative) Join us for the finale of Jubilation when Auxiliary Bishop Christopher Coyne celebrates our closing mass. A parish wide picnic will follow marking the conclusion of our Anniversary celebration.
